I love your website and think that you must be a kind and generous person to share all of your knowledge, so a big thank you. And I so admire you for going back to college and it is so good that you have become a successful business woman. It is a pity that I only discovered your site before, but now that I have I will be using your tips and recipes.
For a long time I have been interested in all things natural and have successfully used the Aloe Vera plant for burns, eczema, itching, bites and scarring. But am new to making creams/salves I tried to make a one with 50% of the gel straight from the plant with 50% aqueous cream -using a double boiler and gently heating the mixture. However, it did not set and is more of a lotion than a cream. Did I get the proportions wrong? Is it necessary to heat the mixture? Should I have done something different? I should be grateful of your advice as the reason for making a cream that I could keep, is that my husband winces at the thought of using the gel straight from the plant. He has sensitive skin and he would find a cream more acceptable to use.
Aloe Vera is really a wonderful plant that has so many uses. Many thanks Carobella x
